MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 10, 1995 - 6:30PM
Mayor Norman F. Freske called the meeting to order at 6:40PM
Mayor Norman F. Freske, Ron Black, Larry Fournier, Vern Heidner, Suzanne Ackerman,
Council Members were present as was Elaine Beatty, City Clerk/Zoning Administrator
and Phyllis Boedigheimer, Business/Finance Director.
Phyllis Boedigheimer, Business/Finance Director reviewed the health, dental, life and long
term disability insurance quotes received. She indicated that she would have a meeting
with all employees to discuss the quotes and answer any question they may have regarding
coverage and their share of the premium costs. She further indicated that the insurance
coverage would be effective September 1, 1995.
Additional items of discussion included the celebration of Cities Week and the 1996
budget process. Phyllis Boedigheimer indicated that the League of Minnesota Cities has
requested cities to promote their city through the celebration of Cities Week. It was the
consensus of the City Council to not pursue the celebration of Cities Week through any
specific event.
The Business/Finance Director handed out budget worksheets and reviewed the budget
process. She indicated that conservative revenue estimates and aggressive expenditure
estimates are good budget policy procedures. She further indicated that the goal is to
ultimately have total revenues exceed total expenditures at the end of each year.
Additional discussion was held regarding the proposed 1996 budget, various expenditures,
and the combining of the General Fund and Road & Bridge Fund as of December 31,
1995.
Larry Fournier motioned to adjourn the meeting. Vern Heidner seconded the motion.
Motion carried unanimously.
