11-07-96 SCCCITY OF OTSEGO SPECIAL CANVASSING MEETING
COUNTY OF WRIGHT
NOVEMBER 7, 1996 - 6PM
MINUTES
Vice Mayor Larry Fournier called the meeting to order in Mayor Norman F
Freske's absence on this 7th day of November, 1996 at 6PM.
Roll call was given and Larry Fournier, Vice Mayor, Ron Black, Vern
Heidner, Suzanne Ackerman, Council Members were present. It was noted that
Norman F Freske was absent. Also present was Elaine Beatty, City Clerk/Zoning
Administrator.
The Canvass of the Municipal Elections for Otsego was open for discussion.
The Canvassing Board reviewed a tape of the results of the Municipal Election
which was held on November 5, 1996 7AM to SPM polls were open. (See attached
information and Resolution).
The declaration of results as follows:
C.M.Ron Black motioned and C.M. Vern Heidner seconded the motion that
Larry Fournier be declared winner for Mayor for a four year term. Motion carried
unanimously.
C.M. Vern Heidner motioned and C.M. Suzanne Ackerman seconded that
Mark Berning be declared winner for Seat #1 for City Council four year term.
Motion carried unanimously.
C.M. Ron Black motioned and C.M. Suzanne Ackerman seconded that
Virginia Bistodeau Wendel be declared winner for Seat #2 for City Council four
year term. Motion carried unanimously.
C.M. Suzanne Ackerman Motioned and C.M. Vern Heidner seconded that
the question (Referendum Re: Sunday Liquor) be declared failed (Did not pass).
Motion carried unanimously.
Vern Heidner motioned to adjourn. Ron Black Seconded the motion.
Motion carried unanimously.
