Roll Call: Mayor Larry Fournier, Councilmembers Jerry

Planner; and Larry Koshak and Ron Wagner, City Engineers.

Proposed Otsego West Sewer Plant
City Planner Licht reviewed the proposed initial sewer
district. The district would include all of Otsego west of
Albertville and south of I-94. It would also include a
strip of land in Otsego a % mile in width running along the
west, north, and east boundaries of Albertville. The total
amount of land would be 1,956.6 gross acres. The proposed
land uses would consist of 776.6 acres of industrial, 38
acres of commercial, 934 acres of low density residential,
115 acres of medium/high density residential, and 96 acres
of semi-public land.
City Engineers Koshak and Wagner reviewed estimates for
sewer use. They estimated at full development the initial
sewer district would generate 1.25 millions gallons per day
of sewage.
There was discussion over what size of sewer plant to build
in the initial phase. Ted Field reviewed his estimate for a
300,000 gallon per day sewer plant. Council was in
consensus to plan big but start small.
After discussion Council directed staff to have cost
estimates for the Feasibility Study/Comprehensive Sewer Plan
and topography purchase on the next Council agenda.
Councilmember Wendell, seconded by Councilmember Ackerman,
moved to adjourn at 5:40 p.m. Carried 5-0.
