MEETING MINUTES
JULY 10, 2001 - 4:30 PM
1. Mayor Fournier will call meeting to order.
Mayor Fournier called the workshop to order at 4:30 p.m.
Roll Call:
Councilmembers: Mayor Larry Fournier, CM Virginia Wendel,
CM Vern Heidner, CM Jerry Struthers, CM Suzanne Ackerman.
Absent: None.
City Staff: City Administrator Mike Robertson.
Discussion of Starting a Police Detpartment - There was
discussion of the current contract with the Wright County
Sheriff's office. Are they in Otsego the full 14 hours a
day? How do they prove that? Do the extra 6 hours shift
between morning and afternoon? A lot of speed traps on
County Road 39, are there any on City roads? Why do some
911 calls route through Elk River? If we went independent,
would Wright County still do dispatching and jail for free?
Prosecution?
Administrator Robertson was directed to put a $120,000
budget together with an officer, two vehicles, training,
equipment, etc. This budget will be discussed at the Budget
Workshop set for Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at 4:30 p.m.
Adjournment: With no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
