Call to Order.
Chair Torresani called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call: Chair Peter Torresani; Commissioners: Charles VonBerg, Angie Dehn, Jim
Breitbach, Brian Fahey and Cara Husak. Absent: Commissioner Doug Cassady, Susan
Krekelberg and Council Member Doug Schroeder. City Council: Mayor Jessica
Stockamp. Staff: Ross Demant, Parks and Recreation Manager, Pat Launderville, Parks
Foreman, Amy Stemler, Recreation Staff and Connie Schwecke, Recreation Assistant.
1. Open Forum.

2. Consider agenda approval
Commissioner Fahey motioned to approve as written. Seconded by
Commissioner VonBerg. All in favor. Motion carried.
3.1 January 8 Regular Meeting Minutes.
Commissioner Fahey motioned to approve as written. Seconded by
Commissioner Dehn. All in favor. Motion carried.

5. New Business.
5.1 School Knoll Play Structure:
Parks and Recreation Manager Demant and Parks Foreman Launderville
presented.
Launderville reported the current structure was installed in 2003. It is in poor
conditionalthough still safe the structure should be replaced soon. Commissioner
Kara Husak asked if the City could resell the old play structure. Parks and
Recreation Manger Demant discussed liability issues and it was agreed that
reselling would not be an option. Commissioner Dehn mentioned that the City
could donate the old play structure to another country.
Parks Foreman Launderville presented five different play structure options. The
new play structures are developmental designed for children two to five years.
All 5 options are under budget. Each contractor included removal and installation
in quote. Commissioner VonBerg questioned if parts could be replaced if
damaged and it was reported that all parts were replaceable and the play
structure has a warranty of fifteen years. Commissioner Breitbach stated he liked
the look of option two. Commissioner Dehn mentioned the option two play
structure provided more areas with different activities that children could use.
Commissioner Vonberg recommended that City Council approve option
two. Seconded by Commissioner Dehn. All in favor. Motion carried.
6. Parks and Recreation Manager Update.
Parks and Recreation Manager Demant introduced new Commissioner Kara
Husak to the committee. Ice rinks: Demant stated the group of skaters using the
ice rinks are very respectful. They wrote a letter thanking the Commission for
providing good quality ice rinks this winter. It has been observed by City staff
that the ice rinks have been heavily used even though it has been an extremely
cold winter.
Updating the Parks & Recreation website: Building rental forms have now been
added to the City website so residents can access and print the contract. The
Recreation staff is working at integrating the Rec Desk software into the City
website to improve the overall look of the website and also to make it more user
friendly.
7. City Council Reports.
Mayor Stockamp gave an update.
The City Council approved the additions at Martin Farms and Gateway North.
Otsego Youth Baseball donated $2500.

Commissioner VonBerg motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner
Fahey. All in favor. Motion carried. Adjourned at 8:10 PM
