Last year the Council identified two economic development strategic goals. The goals came out
of a meeting facilitated by Adeel Ahmed from the University of Minnesota. The goals are as
follows: 1. Implement a City marketing plan 2. Ensure high speed broadband infrastructure is
available, particularly to commercial property.
The purpose of Monday's meeting is to get further direction on the scope and focus of the
marketing initiative desired by the Council. Second, some research has been conducted on
broadband access and that information will be presented after which the Council can
determine if this is an item that the Council still wants to pursue.
