Call to Order.
Mayor Jessica Stockamp called the meeting to order at 6:12 PM.
Roll Call: Mayor Jessica Stockamp; Councilmembers: Vern Heidner, Doug Schroeder and Jason
Warehime. Absent: Councilmember Tom Darkenwald. Staff: Lori Johnson, City Administrator.
1. Advisory Commission Interviews.
The Council interviewed Advisory Commission Applicants.
The Council recommended the following appointments for approval on February 23, 2015:
Planning Commission: Jim Kolles for term expiring February 28, 2019, Aaron Stritesky for term
expiring February 28, 2019 and Roger Mord for term expiring February 28, 2016.
Heritage Preservation Commission: Zonja Matushenko for term expiring February 28, 2019 and
John Noll for term expiring February 28, 2019.
Parks and Recreation Commission: Cory Tanner for term expiring February 28, 2019, Cara
Husak term expiring February 28, 2019, Derrick Stark for term expiring February 28, 2016 and
Michael Stanga; second alternate position for term expiring February 28, 2018.
Mayor Stockamp questioned the continuing need for the Public Safety Commission and the
frequency of their meetings. Councilmember Warehime who serves as liaison to the
Commission stated the current Commission members are engaged and want to continue to
serve. City Administrator Johnson stated that the Council could reduce the Commission from
seven to five members to address the concerns about having a quorum. After discussion the
Council agreed that the current Commission should be allowed to discuss this at their next
meeting and the Council can make changes based on the Commission's recommendation.
2. Fire Service Update.
City Administrator Johnson presented information about a listed commercial property that is
well suited to serving as a fire station. The Council agreed and recommended that the City
pursue purchasing the property. It was agreed that the City Administrator would work with a
local attorney or someone he recommends to assist in the negotiation and purchase. The City
Administrator will provide an update to the Council as soon as additional information is
available.
3. Adjourn.
CM Heidner motioned to adjourn. Seconded by CM Schroeder. Motion carried 4-0.
