This is an assigned position; an employee will be assigned as Street
Maintenance Foreperson on a temporary as needed basis by the
Street Department Superintendent or City Administrator

Pay Grade: Grade -10 Employee's pay grade and step plus $X.00 per hour
Primary Objective of Position
Performs skilled equipment operation and maintenance work related to the street, and storm water
systems, city buildings, and/or repair and maintenance of equipment and vehicles in the Publie
WerksStreet Department consistent with the employee's regular position.; per -forms related duties
Acts as Street Department supervisor (could also say Superintendent which implies
additional authoritv and resnonsibilitvl in absence of Street Deoartment Superintendent for short terns
assignments.

Works under the general supervision of the Publie Wefks Maintenanee Supen,i Street Department
Superintendent
Supervision Exercised
Provides *nieawork direction to summer seasonal employees and may oversee projects including
providing some work direction and coordination during the project. Assists with direction and
assigni-ngment of work and projects to full-time and part-time employees. when rete by
Depat4ment Head.
Essential Functions of the Position
❖ Perform all functions included in the emnlovee's regular position
❖ Assist the department head with management functions of the department
❖ Assist with scheduling projects
❖ Serve as lead in the field on projects
❖ Attend internal and external meetings in the department head's absence
❖ Direct and assign work to full time employees when the department head is absent
includingAssist with seleetien of employees pai4 time and seasonal
❖ Directly supervise all aspects of seasonal employees including project scheduling and
coordination, ensure safety and job training are completed, provide work direction, and
discipline if necessary
❖ Serve as acting department head as requested in his/her absence
