Identify meeting dates for the topics listed below.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
On January 12 the City Council scheduled a series of work sessions to discuss various topics. There are
three items remaining from that original list yet to be scheduled: 1. Waste water system
expansion/odor mitigation planning; 2. Street Management Reconstruction Policy—financing and
assessments; 3. Storm water districts and financing. Plus, the Marketing Plan has been delayed and
needs to be rescheduled again.
Of these, the waste water discussion is the highest priority. Items 2. and 3. above, although important,
are not urgent. In addition, at least two evenings need to be scheduled for upcoming department head
interviews. Based on Council availability in May according to the schedules you provided, I believe May
5 is the first, and maybe only, date available for the Street Operations Manager interviews. I would like
to identify another date in May for Finance Director interviews before scheduling work sessions on
waste water and marketing. According to the most recent schedule from the City Planner, the Planning
Commission will be meeting on April 20 and May 4 making those Mondays unavailable. If the May
regular Council meeting agendas are short, the waste water and marketing plan could be discussed after
a regular meeting; however, both items will probably require at least an hour of discussion.
Please have your calendars available on Monday so that we may determine Council availability and set
aside meeting dates for the above items.
