SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Call to Order.
Mayor Jessica Stockamp called the meeting to order at 6:10 PM.
Roll Call: Mayor Jessica Stockamp; Councilmembers: Vern Heidner, Jason Warehime and Tom
Darkenwald. Councilmember Doug Schroeder arrived at 6:16 PM.
Staff: Lori Johnson, City Administrator.
1. Street Operations Manager Interviews: The Council discussed the interview questions.
Item 3 was moved up to give Councilmember Schroeder time to get to the interview.
3. Consider Resolution 2015-23 Awarding 70th Street NE/CSAH 37 Improvements:
City Administrator Johnson stated that the City is still waiting for approval from the Corp of
Engineers thus she recommends that this item be tabled to the May 11 meeting.
Mayor Stockamp made a motion to table this item to the May 11, 2015 consent
agenda. Councilmember Heidner seconded the motion. Motion carried 4-0.
Councilmember Schroeder arrived.
The Council interviewed Kevin Lamson for Street Operations Manager.
Following the interview Councilmember Darkenwald stated that he is the best qualified
candidate for the position. Councilmember Warehime stated this validates that Kevin should be
the Streets Operations Manager.
Councilmember Darkenwald made a motion to appoint Kevin Lamson as Street
Operations Manager. Councilmember Warehime seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
There was discussion of pay and effective date.
Councilmember Schroeder made a motion that Kevin Lamson be placed at Pay Grade
15 effective May 5, 2015. Councilmember Heidner seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
The Council recessed at 7:47 p.m. The Council reconvened at 7:51 p.m.
2. Street Operations Foreperson: The position description was reviewed and it was agreed
that it was correct as written. City Administrator Johnson stated that if advertised now, the
application deadline would be May 22.
Councilmember Darkenwald made a motion to advertise the Street Operations
Foreperson position. Councilmember Warehime seconded. Motion carried 5-0.
4. Adjourn.
CM Warehime motioned to adjourn. Seconded by CM Darkenwald. All in favor.
Motion carried. Adjourned at 8:07 PM.
