Set Interviews for Advisory Commission Applicants and Accept Resignation from Parks & Recreation

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City has received two applications for the Public Safety Commission. The Public Safety Commission
currently has two vacant seats and one alternate seat. Possible date August 10; prior to the regular
meeting; at 6:30 PM? There is already a special meeting that night directly following.
Also, Parks & Recreation Commissioner Peter Torresani has submitted his resignation from the
commission. I have attached the current list of Advisory Commission appointments. This will leave one
vacant seat on the Parks & Recreation Commission. City staff will post the opening on the city website.

I am sending this email to formally resign from the Otsego Park and Recreation Commission. I have
thoroughly enjoyed the 12 years that I have been a member of the commission, and do this with mixed
emotions. I will truly miss the work that helped us grow from a single park and a failed haunted house
to the point where we are now. I will always feel a little bit of ownership in the holiday events and parks
that we built.
When I joined the commission, I said I wanted to help Otsego build a strong Park and Rec program that
offered people opportunities to participate within Otsego as opposed to neighboring cities. I believe
we've accomplished this, and although we're still growing, city staff and the current commission are
more than up to the challenge.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve on this commission, and expect to see me around often.
