ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? IS A PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED? No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: Staff has completed the application and interview processes for the two vacant Street Department positions. Christopher Vogel was the most qualified applicant for the Maintenance II position. He has passed the background testing and drug testing. The Maintenance II position is a pay grade 9 and we are recommending that he be placed at a step 6 upon hire. Miguel Santamaria was the most qualified applicant for the Maintenance I position. He has passed the background testing and drug testing. The Maintenance I position is a pay grade 6 and we are recommending that he be placed at a step 1 upon hire. Both applicants would be available two weeks after Council has made their decision.
