CITY OF OTSEGO
WRIGHT COUNTY, MINNESOTA
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A COMPREHENSIVE PARKS AND TRAILS PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego has the authority and responsibility under Minnesota
Statutes to prepare and adopt comprehensive plans for the purpose of guiding and
directing future growth and development of the community; and,
WHEREAS, the City adopted a Comprehensive Plan Update in September 1998 in
response to new planning, development, and growth management issues that emerged in
the community; and,
WHEREAS, the Comprehensive Plan encouraged development of a specific parks
and trails plan to address issues of park and trail development and facility programming;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized preparation a Comprehensive Parks and
Trails Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the City's consultants, staff and City Officials have formulated a
Comprehensive Parks and Trails Plan, dated September 2001.
WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing on the Otsego Comprehensive Parks and
Trails Plan was held by the Planning Commission on August 20, 2001 and public comment
was received and considered accordingly; and,
WHEREAS, the Otsego Planning Commission, following the close of the formal
public hearing, recommended the City Council approve the Otsego Comprehensive parks
and Trails Plan; and.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Otsego
that: the Otsego Comprehensive Parks and Trails Plan, as amended by the Planning
Commission and City Council, is approved and adopted.
ADOPTED BY THE OTSEGO CITY COUNCIL THIS 24th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2001.
