BACKGROUND/J USTI FICATION:
The Packard Avenue Improvement project is complete. The project went very well and we
received several positive comments from the residents on how the project turned out. City staff
has reviewed the overall project costs versus the feasibility estimated costs, which were
$162,053.47 and $160,000, respectively. The costs for the paving portion of the project were
very close to the estimate included with the feasibility report as were project administration and
overhead costs for the project. Full depth patching quantities and shouldering exceeded the
feasibility estimate.
With the additional full depth patching and the extra shouldering, the project costs were
$2,053.47 above feasibility estimate or 1.28%. (A summary is included). Therefore the
assessments constitute approximately 49% of the costs, and the city's portion ends up at
approximately 51%.
