RE: United Legacy Donation Request
Background:
On October 3, 2015 Joseph Brunn disappeared outside a hotel in Otsego. An extensive
search followed that saw thousands of people from around the area volunteer for. A
non-profit group, United Legacy Search, Rescue & Recovery assisted the family with the
organizing the volunteers which eventually lead the recovery of Joseph Brunn.
Since the search, the group has received many requests from area residents on how
they can assist with future searches if and when needed. United Legacy is requesting
that the City of Otsego donate the use of Prairie Center for a volunteer orientation on
November 1St, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The cost to rent Prairie Center for 6 hours during
non -business hours is $390.
Deanna Villella who is the President and Co -Founder of Untied Legacy is unable to come
to the Commission meeting in October; however, she has sent an email outlining her
request which staff have attached to this memo.
Conclusion:
Staff is requesting that the Parks and Recreation Commission review the material
included in this memo and make a recommendation to the City Council on the donation
request from United Legacy.
