RECOMMENDATION:
The Otsego 25th Anniversary Committee is requesting approval of a preliminary budget of $2,500 and
use of the public works garage at City Hall for an event on 21 November 2015 and related activities.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
This year is Otsego's 25th anniversary of incorporation as a City on 15 November 1990. The City Council
has approved organizing a volunteer committee to plan events to celebrate the occasion. The volunteer
committee, chaired by Mayor Stockamp, has met three times and is proposing an event on 21
November 2015 from 4:OOPM to Midnight at the public works garage at City Hall. The event would
include invitations to community restaurants to provide tastings of their menus, inviting the Otsego
Lions to serve beer and popcorn, live music, and inflatables for kids. The 25th Anniversary committee is
requesting City Council approval for use of the public works building and a preliminary budget of
$2,500.00 for the event and related activities. No additional sponsorships or funding will be sought from
area businesses so as not to complete with support for the Prairie Festival. The 25th Anniversary
committee will work with Streets Department and Parks and Recreation Department staff to coordinate
use of the public works garage, as well as security issues for the event.
