ITEM 3.3B OHP 9.5.2015 MinutesITEM 3.3g 9-8-15 OTSEGO HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION Present: Zonja Matushenko, Chris Wilson, Toni Seroshek, Gail Anderson Mayor Jessica Stockamp. Meeting called to order at 7:10pm. Minutes of the August meeting were approved. Book revisions/binding: Lisa Fahey has resigned as a Commissioner but will continue with the book binding/revisions project. She will be at the October meeting and will continue to be the liaison with Kim Welter, who is re -designing the covers. Kim had sent a sample of covers and backs for both In the Beginning and The Farm Years and we agreed that we like how she had formatted them. Otsego Silver Celebration: The committee for the Celebration of the 25tn anniversary incorporation of the City will be next week at 6pm on Tuesday. All plans appear to be progressing nicely. Zonja has been able to put the historical pictures she has been scanning into a movie. OHPC will have a small generator placed a distance from our booth to power it. Lions will sell wine, beer and water and popcorn and Pour will have food options. Chris and Gail prepared four posters with historical material on Otsego, mostly from newspaper clippings, and we will use a map of historical sites which Chris had prepared previously for our fifth display. Chris has sketched Otsego sites in cartoon form for a map display. Otsego Festival: Jessica has been working with a T-shirt supplier and has given him an Otsego design shirt. OHPC will have a display of Otsego shirts with 50 made in the following sizes: 5 small, 10 medium, 15 large, 15 extra large, and 5 extra extra large at the Festival at the OHPC booth. Chris will bring a change box and Jessica will ask for $5 in change for it. The shirts will be $15 each. We will also have the displays prepared for the Silver Celebration at the Festival as well. We will not be selling our books but will have a copy of each for display purposes. The following schedule is set up for staffing the OHPC booth: Chris: 9:15-12; Gail & Toni, 9:15 — 2; Zonja: 2- 4pm. Ross will put out our materials which are now set out by the back door of Prairie Center and Ross will put them back in our office after the event. OHPC Commissioner Recruitment: Zonja has made a clever recruitment flyer which we will display prominently at the Festival, at City booths, at the shelter, in the portable johns and featured at our table. Zonja will laminate 10 of her flyers and the bill will be submitted to the City. We will work to recruit any interested and qualified persons to the Commission. Due to Lisa's retirement, we have three openings for OHPC Commissioners. There was also notice of openings in the recent Otsego View newsletter. State Historic Preservation Organization: Gail, Toni and Zonja are all intending to go to the State conference in Little Falls this year and Toni has applied for a grant for expenses for the three of us to be covered by the State organization. Any remaining costs will be submitted to the City. We will be reporting back to OHPC on what we view as significant. New Park Naming: Gail will send all information we have about the city of Northwood which is being used as the name for the newest park in the City. She will attempt to get a picture of Oliver Kelley and his brother and their platmap of the City, etc. and will send it to Dan Licht, City Planner, copy to Ross Demant, Parks and Rec Director.
