BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
On October 3, 2015 Joseph Brunn disappeared outside a hotel in Otsego. An extensive search followed
that saw thousands of people from around the area volunteer. A non-profit group, United Legacy
Search, Rescue & Recovery assisted the family with the organizing the volunteers which eventually lead
the recovery of Joseph Brunn.
Since the search, the group has received many requests from area residents on how they can assist with
future searches if and when needed. United Legacy is requesting that the City of Otsego donate the use
of Prairie Center for a volunteer orientation on November V, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.. The cost to rent
Prairie Center for 6 hours during non -business hours is $390.
Deanna Villella who is the President and Co -Founder of Untied Legacy is unable to come the Commission
meeting in October; however, she has sent an email outlining her request which staff have attached to
this memo.

Subject: United Legacy Volunteer Orientation
Hello,
My name is Deanna Villella President and Co -Founder of United Legacy Search, Rescue & Recovery task
force. We operate a non-profit organization that aids and assists counties and families with search management
in the state of Minnesota for both private and public searches. We were overwhelmed with the communities
support in searching for joe brunn. We have had a significant amout of volunteers wanting to get involved in
future searches. This support could help us help other families tremendously in the future if given the
opportunity. Because we are strictly non-profit we rely on volunteers and resources to be donated to help us
grow as an organization. We are graciously asking for a donation of space to host a volunteer orientation
November 1, 2015. 12-6pm. We would greatly appreciate your support for our cause. We can clean-up when
the meeting concludes. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Deanna Villella
