BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City was recently awarded a Business Development Public Infrastructure (BDPI) grant from the
Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). One of the requirements of
the grant is that the City commit to funding its share of the project prior to execution of the grant
agreement.
The attached resolution stating that the City intends to internally fund the City's share of project costs
meets DEED's requirement for the grant as stated above. As you know, the City intends to assess
benefitting property owners to fund a portion of the project cost.

RESOLUTION NO. 2015-67
RESOLUTION APPROVING COMMITMENT OF FUNDS FOR CITY
SHARE OF GREAT RIVER CENTRE QUADAY INFRASTRUCTURE
IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, The City has acquired a tax forfeit parcel from Wright County for
development of P & F Machining, Inc., and other industrial lots to bring jobs and
tax base to the City; and
WHEREAS, before development of the property may occur, construction of
public improvements including street, water, sewer and storm water is required;
and
WHEREAS, the City received a Business Development Public Infrastructure
Grant (BDPI) grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and
Economic Development to fund $317,696 of the $636,537 project cost.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Otsego, Wright County, Minnesota, that the City hereby commits to internally
fund the $318,841 balance of the Great River Centre Quaday Infrastructure
Improvement project and other costs not funded by the $317,696 BDPI grant.
