CITY OF OTSEGO
COUNTY OF WRIGHT, MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY CODE FOR PARK AND TRAIL RULES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO DOES HEREBY ORDAIN:
Section 1. Section 6-7-5 of the City Code is hereby amended to include the
following provisions:
F. Fenced areas within parks designated as Dog Parks for off -leash recreation shall
be subject to the rules of this section and the following additional provisions:
Persons and entering the dog park do so at their own risk; the City shall
not be liable for any claim, demand, injury, damage, action, or causes of
action whatsoever to such persons, dogs, or property due to the
negligence or failure to act of the City.
2. Dangerous or potentially dangerous dogs, defined by Wright County
Ordinance, shall be prohibited from entering the dog park.
3. Dogs must be at least four (4) months of age.
Section 2. Chapter 6, Section 7 of the City Code is hereby amended to include
the following provisions:
6-7-9: ARCHERY RANGE:
A. Persons and entering the archery range do so at their own risk; the City shall not
be liable for any claim, demand, injury, damage, action, or causes of action
whatsoever to such persons or property due to the negligence or failure to act of
the City.
B. Rules:
1. All users shall adhere to the posted archery shooting procedures.
2. Users shall only shoot at designated targets, including shooting
broadhead arrows only at specifically designated targets, and be aware of
the target and what is beyond the target.
3. Always draw bow with arrow parallel to the ground unless using a
crossbow, only nock arrows at the shooting line unless using a crossbow,
and shall at all times keep bow pointed towards the target when loaded.
4. Persons under the age of sixteen (16) years must be accompanied and
supervised by an adult.
C. The following procedures shall be followed by users at all times:
1. Verify the range is clear.
2. Give "Range is Hot" or similar command to indicate shooting may
commence.
3. When finished shooting, place bow on rack or set it down and wait behind
the shooting line until all archers are finished shooting.
4. Give a "Cease Fire" or similar command to indicate all shooting should
stop.
5. Verify all equipment is put down and remains behind the shooting line.
6. Proceed to the targets to retrieve arrows.
7. When using whistle commands:
a. Use,one (1) whistle blast to indicate shooting may commence.
b. Use three (3) blasts to indicate arrows may be retrieved.
C. Use four (4) or more blasts if an emergency exists.
d. Two (2) whistle blasts are used during programs to indicate
participants can pick up their equipment, but command is not
necessary during open shooting.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and publication.
