ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? -] IS A PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED? No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: As the recreation program grows so does the need for staffing at all levels. We have hired Recreation Program Lead positions to run such programs as Tiny Tot Time, Parks & Recreation Days at the Holiday Inn Water Park, Soccer Clinics, and special events. The difference between a program assistant and a program lead is their responsibility and experience. Our Recreation Program Lead staff are paid between $10.00-$14.00 per hour and are hired to run programs and are also responsible for helping with program content and overall supervision of that program. Recreation Program Assistant staff are paid between $7.25-$9.00 per hour and are hired to assist the program lead with program implementation. Lindsey was hired just over one year ago as a Recreation Program Assistant and since that time she has taken on more of the planning and assisting with program content. She has also had the opportunity to work with other program leads in her assistant role which has added with preparing her for the step into a lead position.
