SUBJECT: Classification and Compensation Study
On Monday, the City Council will get its first opportunity to review the preliminary results of the
Classification and Compensation Study conducted by Springsted, Inc. Ann Antonsen will
distribute copies of the study at the meeting and will review the data, proposed plans,
recommendations, and implementation options in detail at that time. The Council will have
plenty of time to ask questions at the meeting and to provide feedback on the preliminary
results.
Ms. Antonsen recommended that the employee meeting on this topic follow the Council
meeting. Thus, a meeting with employees is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday at which
time Ms. Antonsen will present the results of the study along with the Council's input and
direction from the December 14 meeting.
Following this week's meetings, Springsted will amend the preliminary results based on Council
direction to create a final version of the Classification and Compensation Plans for adoption at
an upcoming meeting along with an implementation plan. No action is requested at this
Monday's meeting other than input and direction from the Council on the preliminary
Classification and Compensation Plans.
