02-09-05 PRMEMO
Date: February 2, 2005
To: Park & Recreation Commission
From: City Administrator Mike Robertson
Re: Park Update
I will not be at the February Park Commission meeting
because I will be on vacation. The memo is an update
of those items you asked about at the last meeting, as
well as some additional items.
Plowing of Snow in Prairie Park Lot - I will let Brad
know he should plow out this lot to encourage use of
the sliding hill, assuming it snows again.
Repair of Prairie Park Slide - The replacement part
finally arrived. The slide will be repaired in the
spring when it warms up.
Installation of Additional Items in Prairie Park - I
will prepare a list of changes/additional items for
Prairie Park. Among items on that list would be
various changes to the ball fields, the volleyball
courts, the horseshoe pit, more garbage cans, picnic
tables, etc. Feel free to add any changes that I have
left out. The list will be reviewed by the Council and
put out for bid in the spring.
Future Park Planning - I expect planning for the west
side park to begin this summer. Jessica will inform
you of the name recommended by the Historic
Preservation Commission. That planning will involve
identifying prospective uses and then working with the
park designer on a plan.
Neighborhood Park in NE Corner of Otsego - Are you
talking about the park need identified in the area of
85th & Odean Avenue. The City doesn't own any land
there yet. If you are looking for the City to acquire
land you should probably talk about this with the
Council liaison.
City Update - Jessica can update you on the City's new
Development Plan, purchase of land north of City Hall,
and, of course, snowmobile issues.
