PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING
MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 9, 2005 7:00 PM
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at
7:OOPM
Roll Call: Commissioners Aaron Stritesky, Peter
Torresani, Kathy Roberts, Mike Brumm, Virginia
Duran, and Russ Langer. Councilmember Jessica
Stockamp.
Staff: City Administrator Mike Robertson.
New Members: Administrator Robertson introduced
new commissioners Virginia Dunn and Russ Langer.
Agenda Approval: Commissioner Torresani, seconded
by Commissioner Brumm, moved to approve the agenda
as presented. Carried 6-0.
Approval of minutes from February 9, 2005 meeting:
Commissioner Stritesky, seconded by Commissioner
Torresani, moved to approve the minutes as
presented. Carried 6-0.
Review of Prairie Park Improvements: Commissioners
discussed the list of possible Prairie Park
improvements, and added several items to the list.
Administrator Robertson said that the City Council
would receive the list and make a decision on each
item. Robertson also stated he would bring new
Public Works Director Brad Belair to the next
meeting to discuss ballfield improvements and
maintenance.
Future Park Planning: Commissioners discussed
planning for future parks. He said that the
proposed 20 acre Beaudry Meadows Park in west
Otsego adjacent to the sewer plant would be the
next park planned.
Easter Update: Commissioner Roberts and
Councilmember Stockamp discussed the work left to
be done for the Eater Egg hunt.
Discussion of Possible 4th of July Event:
Councilmember Stockamp and Administrator Robertson
reported that the City Council did not want a
fireworks display due to cost and competition with
adjacent cities.
City Update: Councilmember Stockamp and
Administrator Robertson updated Commissioners on
recent Council actions.
Adjournment: Commissioner Brumm, seconded by
Commissioner Torresani, moved to adjourn at 9:30
p.m. Carried 6-0.
