PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 10, 2005 7:00 PM
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at
7:00 PM.
Roll Call: Commissioners: Chair Aaron Stritesky,
Russ Langer, Rose Cassady, Kathy Roberts, Mike
Brumm, Virginia Duran, and Peter Torresani.
Councilmembers: Jessica Stockamp and Mark Thorsted.
Staff: City Administrator Mike Robertson.
Agenda Approval: Commissioner Torresani, seconded
by Commissioner Roberts, moved to approve the
agenda as amended. Carried 7-0.
Approval of minutes from July 13, 2005 meeting:
Commissioner Torresani, seconded by Commissioner
Brumm, moved to approve the minutes as presented.
Carried 7-0.
Interview of Potential Park Designers: The Park &
Recreation Commission interviewed Barry Warner and
Ken Greishaber of SRF; Jan and Ted Anderson of
HTPO; Steve Winsman of Ingraham Associates; and
Steve Hagstrom of Savanna Designs.
Commission consensus was that SRF was the first
choice and the majority ranked Ingraham Associates
as the second choice over Savanna Designs.
Commissioners noted that while Mr. Hagstrom of
Savanna Designs did not have much experience
designing a standard park they were extremely
impressed with his natural area designs, and they
recommended that he be considered when the City did
that type of park in the future.
Adjournment: Commissioner Duran, seconded by
Commissioner Cassady, moved to adjourn at 9:55 p.m.
Carried 7-0.
