Re: Park Update
We have just received the following information from
Carol McNaughten-Commers of Community Education about
their fall, 2007 planning. Carol will be at the
Wednesday, July 11 Park meeting.
Fall 2007 Planning for Otsego Recreation
Preliminary plans as of July 6, 2007
Continuing programs:
Little Sportsters
Gymnastics * will be reinstating the popular after
school times, also
Basketball (possibly Saturday morning skills classes
again)
Tennis * adding new location - youth & adult
After School Elementary Recreation
Open Gym - youth & adult
Adult basketball - over 35
Golf - youth & adult
New Activities:
Otsego Festival Climbing Wall
Archery
Kickball League for adults
Another preschool offering (currently exploring
options)
Possible elementary and middle school program
(triathlon, bike, run & skate clubs, etc)
Fall or Winter - hoping to start intramurals for middle
school and/or high school (co-sponsor with Rogers Rec
at RMS or RHS)
Questions:
1. Are there lights at any of the tennis courts or
outdoor fields?
2. Is it possible to use the DDR equipment from the
Festival for an after school class at Otsego? We could
plan to get additional pads to use with it as needed.
3. Is there space within the new Public Works building
for classes (either soft -recreational or educational,
perhaps trainings or meetings)? Daytime space for
preschoolers and adults is always needed, especially as
the weather gets colder.
4. Would you like to see additional Recreational
Events besides the Festival activity?
5. What is our timeline for planning for the 2008
budget year?
