RESOLUTION NO. 2015-75
RESOLUTION REGARDING WAIVER OF CERTAIN POLICY
REQUIREMENTS- OTSEGO LION'S CLUB
WHEREAS; the Otsego Lion's Club is a local organization that provides numerous
donations to the residents of the City of Otsego; and
WHEREAS, the Otsego Lion's Club has regular meetings and an occasional party at the
City of Otsego's facilities, attended by members only; and
WHEREAS, at some of these meetings and parties a small amount of alcoholic
beverages are served; and
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego's rental policy (Prairie Center Reservation Policy,
Policy 05.0, Section 05.05.06, C, 4, f) requires that the renter provide a security officer at
any event where alcoholic beverages are consumed.
NOW THEREFORE the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Otsego resolves as follows:
City of Otsego Policy 05.0 (Prairie Center Reservation Policy) Section 05.05.06,
C, 4, f is hereby amended to read as follows: "Unless specifically waived by the
City Council, for all events that alcoholic beverages are present, a security officer,
scheduled by the Parks and Recreation Department, will be required to be in
attendance for the entire duration of the event with all costs associated with
provision of such security to be paid by the holder of the rental agreement and
specified therein."
2. In light of the numerous contributions to community residents made by the
Otsego Lion's Club and their general service to the community, the City Council
waives the requirement for a security officer at the regular Lion's Club meetings
and parties attended by members only until June 30, 2016. All other City
ordinance and policy requirements apply.
3. City staff is hereby directed to undertake administrative procedures necessary to
effectuate this Resolution.
ADOPTED this 14th day of December, 2015 by the City Council of the City of Otsego,
Wright County, Minnesota.
