Call Meeting To Order Jeff BartheId called meeting to order at 7:10. Guests Merland Otto Suzanne Ackerman 2. Review of the minutes from the February 11, 1997 meeting Amend that Darlene Solberg and Tom Baillargeon were present as members. Amend Virginia Waters to Virginia Wendel. All motions from the February minutes were approved_ Darlene Solberg made a motion that the minutes were amended. Tom Constant seconded. Motion approved. 3. Election of Offices Jeff Bartheld apologized because we don't have an agenda. We need to vote on a secretary_ Jeff Bartheld nominated Sue Kroll to be secretary. Darlene Solberg seconded. Motion approved. Darlene Nominated Jeff Bartheld for chairman. Sue Kroll seconded. Motion approved. Darlene Solberg nominated Tom Constant for vice chair. Bill Olson seconded Motion approved. Also we need to thank Tom Baillargeon for all his hard work in the past. 4. Open Forum We will use the February agenda to follow for March 5.City Counsii CM Suzanne Ackerman stated we would have a 1997 budget in April. The 85"' St project is being put on hold until the next city council meeting. G. Merland Otto At the end of March we have the application for the DNR Grant money for the FY98 project. We also have to redefine the FY98 project. We are in the process of revising the APR -07-1997 08:06 EDINA TECHNICAL PRODUCTS 6125570242 P.02iO4 7CTEA FY96 project. That should go to MNDOT the end of this week. As soon as that is approved we can take it to City Counsil_ The revision will include Nashua from 39 down to the town hall. 39 up to the fust entry to Otsego County Park_ That would be an off road trail_ Also a link from 85h to the elementary school. Along with that we would prepare a maintenance policy. For the Town Hall relocation we will need a conditional use permit, Jeff Bartheld is going to the planning and zoning meeting. This spring we need to get the trails paved to fulfill the DNR grant. Jeff Asthal called about the condition of the ball fields. Tom Constant will check into lumber and steel for benches for the ball field. For the bike plan there are 9 tasks remaining to complete it. We've got 1 more chapter to draft and that is the implementation chapter. Tom Constant made a motion to table the estimation draft on the bike way plan. Bill Olson seconded. Motion approved. 7. Family Fun Day Jeff Bartheld introduced Michelle Bergh from Community Rec. Mayor Fourier gave us a proclamation for Family Fun Day. Michelle made a flyer for FFD. We need to talk about the cost per person. Darlene Solberg will meet with Don Heinzman at the Star News about an ad_ Michelle is organizing the crafters. There will be a $15 fee per crafter, and each must provide their own set up. Jeff spoke to Mary Ziner about the FFA Barnyard. They will be participating. On our wish list we have asked for more service groups, The FFA would also like to set up a candy booth. Darlene Solberg will contact the Lions about their wellness bus. Darlene Solberg will talk to Jacquie Rognli about Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts setting up refieshment booths. The cost will be $5.00 per couple, or $3.00 per person. Children accompanied by a paying adult will be free. We will print 200 large flyers to put in store windows, and 1500 small flyers to hand out to the community_ Darlene Solberg is contributing paper for the flyers. Darlene Solberg made a motion for a special meeting for Family Fun Day on March 31 at 7:00, Tom Constant seconded. Motion approved. April 8h we will have a subcommittee meeting to include Darlene Solberg Jeff Bartheld and Sue .Troll, at 6:00 before the regular meeting. 8, Town Hall The bid for moving the Town Hall is $2,200. Tom Constant made a motion that we approach the Elk River Legion about a donation to help with the moving costs for the Town Hall. Sue Kroll seconded Motion approved. Merland Otto suggested that we put together a package or some kind of presentation on the Town Hall to display at Otsego Family Fun Day so people are aware of this project. We may generate some donations or even original items from the Town Hall_ Jeff Bartheld will talk to the Heritage Preservation Commission about putting something together. 9. Other Items of Concern Jeff Bartheld thanked us for his appointment to chair. Jeff Bartheld also stated that we should think about some kind of a presentation for Tom Baillargeon for his years of service to the commission Darlene made a motion to adjourn the meeting Tom Constant seconded. otion approved.
