RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council accept the $4,500 cash donation and $1,000 worth of advertising
from The Bank of Elk River for the exclusive partnership of the 2016 Movie Series, 2016 Splash and Play
Entertainment Series, and to be a Platinum Level sponsor for the 2016 Otsego Prairie Festival .

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Bank of Elk River has entered into a partnership with the City of Otsego to help the City promote
health and wellness throughout the community. The Bank of Elk River is donating monetarily $4,500
and $1000 worth of advertising to the City of Otsego and in return will be the exclusive partner for the
2016 Movie Series, the 2016 Splash and Play Entertainment Series, and to be a Platinum Level sponsor
for the 2016 Otsego Prairie Festival .
In addition to the exclusive partnerships, The Bank of Elk River will also provide volunteers at other
events throughout the year. The Bank and City encourage other local businesses to attend and help
promote community at these events also.
We are thankful for The Bank of Elk River's contribution to Otsego recreation programs and look forward
to an ongoing relationship with The Bank of Elk River as we expand our recreation programs and
community events.

RESOLUTION NO.2016-03
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE BANK OF ELK
RIVER TO THE OTSEGO PARKS AND RECREAITON DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, The Bank of Elk River has made a cash donation of $4,500.00 and
$1,000 worth of advertising to the Otsego Parks and Recreation Department; and,
WHEREAS, the donation to the Otsego Parks and Recreation Department is for
the purpose of supporting provisions of community events in Otsego; and,
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations or
real or personal property be accepted only with adoption of a resolution of the
governing body; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego sincerely thanks The Bank of Elk River for their
generous donation and for its support of the community; and,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Otsego, Wright County, Minnesota that the donation by The Bank of Elk River is
hereby accepted.
ADOPTED this 1 lth day of January 2016 by the Otsego City Council.
