RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the corresponding resolution accepting a
donation from Christ Church of Otsego in the amount of $1,000.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City recently received an unexpected donation from Christ Church of Otsego in the amount of
$1,000. The Church provided a letter with their donation, which is attached.
The Church mentioned they were blessed with generous giving at year-end, and wanted to pass along
some of that good will to the City in hopes that it would meet a current need that might be outside of
our current budgets.

Dear Mayor Stockamp,
I am writing to you on behalf of Christ Church In Otsego, I serve as our Church Council
President. I want to begin by speaking peace and blessings over you, our Mayor, the
City Council, Staff, and all the residents of Otsego, We declare 2016 as a year of favor,
provision, and abundance and we want you to know that you are in our prayers. We
appreciate all that you do for our city.
Pastor Greg and I would like to meet with you sometime soon to discuss ways that we
can further partner together to meet some special needs that you might identify in the
city. We have planned to set aside some funds in our budget to assist, along with
providing volunteer support.
We also want to present the City of Otsego right now with a gift of $1000;00 to help
Meet a current need that might be outside your budget at this time. We were blessed
by generous giving at year-end and want to pass along a blessing to the city that we
love. We thank you for the support and partnership that we have shared in Otsego for
many years.

RESOLUTION NO: 2016-26
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION
FROM CHRIST CHURCH OF OTSEGO
WHEREAS, the Christ Church of Otsego has made a cash donation to the City of Otsego in the amount of
$1,000; and
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego sincerely thanks the Christ Church of Otsego for their generous donation
and for their support of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO,
NIINNESOTA:
That the cash donation in the amount of $1,000 from Christ Church of Otsego is hereby accepted.
ADOPTED by the Otsego City Council this 22nd day of February, 2016.
