RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend designating $1,000 contribution from Christ Church to the purchase of an AED for
placement at a wastewater treatment facility.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Christ Church of Otsego generously contributed $1,000 to the City to help fund a need that is not
budgeted. On behalf of the City, I extend sincere thanks to Christ Church for their contribution.
The need identified for this gift is the purchase of an AED for the wastewater facilities. Currently,
neither of the facilities is equipped with an AED. An AED costs between $1,200 and $1,800. The balance
of the cost not funded by the Church's donation will be paid from the Wastewater operating budget. A
second AED can be purchased from operating funds to ensure that this lifesaving equipment is in place
at both facilities.
