skating rules.
Jeff Asphalt reported that Area 728 Recreation is thin _ns
about changing their name so that it. will not seem tc
pertain only to SChO01 District 728 residents.
He brought a copy of the Area Rc.creatiO n ad for the
skating 1p_sons and the Winter Fest.

the warming house should be open only when the sk_.ting
rink is -upervised. Roche Martin seconded.

costs are not included in the Istea Grant mcrey• Money
used by the c_ty for engineering will not be matched.
However, we will very possiblY be eiigible for r__,tate Aid
Funds to cover that cost.
The dead line for the Istea ge Grant is January 11, !99`•
The city must match at !east 20% of grant obtained.
Merlin feels we have a icod chance because the State wants
to use the money for transportation needs such as our bike
trail.
Darlene Solberg moved that we apply for the 14';� Tstea
grant. Debbie car,. -on seconded the motion. Notion was
voted on and defeated.
Tom Saillargeon sug�-:nsted that we sl1ould consiee�ed plans
for improvement in phases instead of years.
8. WINTER ACTIVITIES;
Tom Saillargeon reported that the ice rink Should be
flooded next :seek and be ready to open Dec. 19th.
Tom Baillargeon will check with the City of Elk River
about renting their Cross country ski trail groomer.
The let Annual Visit from Santa will be Decamber 17th.
The Otsego Lions are co -sponsoring the event.

Oiscuss:on was Yield on spring programs such as an EAster
egg hunt and the Bike Rodeo. Jeff Asphalt suggested
portable playgrounds and transportation to the park be
looked at in the future.

Discussion was had on whether the American I-egicn is still
interested in doing any development in Otsego.
Carl Swenson recom,mened having Sentenced to serve cut
Prickly Ash and small (2' ) trees from the South area of
the park. Tom Haillargeon will try tc mark them.
