03-14-01 PROTSEGO PARR & RECREATION COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 13, 2001 - 7:00 PM
1. Chair Mike Day will call meeting to order.
Mike Day called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Roll Call:
Park & Recreation Commission: Mike Day, Pauline Nelson, Tom
Constant, Terry Long, and Jim Gaikowski.
Absent: Tony Faust & Tom Baillargeon.
Councilmembers: Council Representative Suzanne Ackerman.
City Staff: City Administrator Mike Robertson.
Approval of Minutes - Administrator Robertson said that he had
not received any minutes for the last three meetings.
Commissioner Day noted that Commissioner Baillargeon had not
been present and no minutes had been kept. Everyone said they
would examine notes of the last few meetings to create minutes.
Discussion of Proposed Soccer Field Grant - Commissioner
Constant stated that Mike Roden of the Soccer Association was
intending to apply for two grants, one for Prairie Park and one
for the VFW site. Robertson said that he would contact Roden to
discuss the Prairie Park grant with him.
Administrator Robertson Update - Robertson updated Commissioners
on the plans for School Knoll Park, the upcoming meeting on the
proposed Park & Trail Plan, the Park Shelter, and development
approvals in the City. Commissioners asked that updated copies
of the Park & Trail Plan be mailed to every Commissioner.
Picnic Tables - Robertson noted that the picnic tables for the
Park Shelter have been ordered and wanted to know whether they
should be bolted down. Commissioners decided to leave them
unbolted for flexibility.
Council Representative Suzanne Ackerman - Councilmember Ackerman
said that Council wanted to hold off on the development of
School Knoll Park until next summer so that park construction
did not conflict with housing construction and so that adjacent
residents could be invited in to see the park plans and comment
on them.
Haunted House Planning - Commissioners discussed plans for the
Haunted House in October.
Adjournment - Commissioner Constant, seconded by Commissioner
Nelson, moved to adjourn at 8:08 p.m. Carried 5-0.
