Feel free to give me a call at 952-979-1101 if you have any further questions, or to set up a tour of the park. 1. What was the initial cost to build the park? The initial cost of the park was $135,000. That included blacktopping the site, fencing, skate park equipment and construction of an attendant building. The skate equipment cost $99,000. 2. Has liability insurance been issue? The Overpass Skate Park is classified as a tier two skate park. This classification requires that the site be supervised during all open hours and the City must take out specific liability insurance for the park. Liability insurance for 2003 will be $2000. 3. What have the operating costs been as of now? Our operating costs and revenues have been getting smaller each year. Revenues for 2002 were $17,315, and expenses were $35,025. We are restructuring hours and staffing for 2003 and have budget to break-even 4. Have there been many incidents and injuries to people using the park? There have been injuries at the park but there have been no claims against the City. Every participant must sign a waiver form and wear protective equipment. 5. Do you have a fee to use the park? The fee structure for the park is: $5.00 per visit for a Resident Member $6.00 per visit for a Non -Resident Member $7.00 per visit for a Resident Non -Member $8.00 per visit for a Non -Resident Non -Member Season Membership $30.00 We are considering going to a flat $5.00 per visit fee for everyone in 2003 An Equal Opportunity Employer 6. What is the approximate number of people using the park on an average day? Last year's daily average was about 32 skaters per day. surveyed a number of park managers/directors last fall to gather market information so I have fresh information on the state of the skate parks locally.
