December 15, 2015
7:30 PM
Call to Order.
Chair Angie Dehn called the work session meeting to order at 7:30 PM.
Roll Call: Chair Angie Dehn; Commissioners: Doug Cassady, Jim Breitbach, Derrick
Stark, Corey Tanner, and Cara Husak.
Absent: Susan Krekelberg and Michael Stanga.
City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp and City Council Member Doug Schroeder.
Staff: Ross Demant, Parks and Recreation Director, Pat Launderville, Parks Foreman,
Amy Stemler, Recreation Lead and Connie Schwecke, Recreation Administrative
Assistant.
1. Otsego Parks and Recreation Mission Statement.
1.1 Parks and Recreation Department Mission Statement.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant presented a power point on developing a
mission statement.
Chair Dehn and Commissioners Husak, Tanner and Stark all agreed and
requested that we add "preserving heritage" in the mission statement.
Commissioner Breitbach requested, for more clarity, to change the word "facility"
to "parks".
Commissioners Cassady and Breitbach requested to add "residents and visitors"
to the mission statement.
After discussion, the commissioners agreed to the following mission statement:
"OTSEGO PARKS AND RECREATION, THROUGH ITS EMPLOYEES AND
VOLUNTEERS, IS COMMITTED TO PERSERVING HERITAGE WHILE PROVIDING
QUALITY AND INNOVATIVE SERVICES, PARKS, AND PROGRAMS TO
RESIDENTS AND VISITORS."
