RECOMMENDATION:
The Public Works Subcommittee has reviewed quotes for the 2012 biosolids application at the
September 19th meeting. Staff recommends approval for R -Way Pumping Inc. to complete the fall
biosolids hauling project.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
Biosolids application for 2012 is anticipated to be 1,000,000 gallons - completed on local sites. Three
quotes were received. R -Way Pumping Inc. provided low quote and has completed hauling for the City
in past years.
Quotes:
R -Way Pumping was the lowest at $0.0335/gallon plus $800 mobilization.
Fergus Power Pump was $0.036/gallon plus fuel surcharge for fuel over $3.50/g. Schluender
Construction was $0.037/gallon for the West WWTF and $0.049 for the East WWTF.
