SPECIAL PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING
PRAIRIE CENTER CONFERENCE ROOM
November 14, 2012

Call to Order.
Chair Torresani called the meeting to order at 6:1OPM.
Roll Call: Chair Peter Torresani; Vice -Chair Charles VonBerg; Commissioners; Mike
Brumm and Susan Krekelberg; Absent: Commissioners Rose Cassady, Kathy Roberts
and Triste Freeberg; City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp; City Staff: Ross Demant,
Parks and Recreation Manager and Sandy Lindenfelser, Special Licensing.
1. Parks and Recreation Planning_ Session:
Parks and Recreation Manager gave a recap of how Pumpkin Patch Day went.
Concerns were brought up about pictures being taken of children the day of the event
and placed on a website and that parents could have been misled to thinking this
person was associated with the City. After discussion with City Attorney MacArthur, the
person taking pictures was notified and the pictures were removed from the website.
With this in mind, Parks and Recreation Manager brought up the idea of purchasing
"Staff' tee shirts for volunteers to wear in the future. Parks and Recreation Manager
Demant said that there could be three (3) different tee shirts for the three (3) events,
each with its own logo. The Commission directed Parks and Recreation Manager
Demant to come up with some designs and e-mail them to Commissioners for review.
There was discussion about the past year's Santa Day and what is needed for this
year's. The Parks and Recreation Commission will meet Friday night before this event
to set up.
