Bid Summary
City Council Meeting, April 25th, 2016
I. General Summary Bid Opening
Bids were opened April 21st, 2016 for the East WWTF Aerator Equipment
procurement. The project received bids from the two specified bidders. WesTech was
the apparent low bidder and is recommended for award. The bid tabulation is
attached. Note that WesTech provided the existing aerator equipment for the East
WWTF, so this equipment will match the existing. There was one minor irregularity
that WesTech did not acknowledge Addendum No. 1 in the bid package, but
acknowledgement was received prior to bid opening. Per the contract documents, the
City (Owner) has the right to waive irregularities, and this irregularity is
recommended to be waived.
II. Request for Council Action
a. The following council actions are requested:
i. Award of equipment procurement contract for in the amount of $134,694.
Following Council approval, the Notice of Contract Award will be issued,
and a contract will be prepared.
1. This award will initiate shop drawing preparation and subsequently
equipment fabrication, and the equipment procurement contract
will be assigned to the successful general contractor for the
installation. Bid advertisement for the East WWTF Aerator
Upgrades project is scheduled for April 28th, 2016 and was
previously authorized for advertisement by Council.
