RESOLUTION NO. 2016-53
RESOLUTION REGARDING WAIVER OF CERTAIN POLICY REQUIREMENTS- OTSEGO LION'S CLUB
WHEREAS, the Otsego Lion's Club is a 501C3 non-profit organization located within the City of Otsego;
and
WHEREAS, the Lion's Club has regular meetings and an occasional party at the City of Otsego's Prairie
Center facility; and
WHEREAS, at some of these meetings and member gatherings a small amount of alcoholic beverages
are present and brought to the facility by individual members; and
WHEREAS, the City.of Otsego's rental policy (Prairie Center Reservation Policy, 05.0, Section 05.05.06, C,
4, f) requires that the renter provide a security officer at any event where alcoholic beverages are
consumed unless specifically waived by City Council resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Otsego, Minnesota as follows:
The Council specifically waives the requirement for a security officer for the Otsego Lion's Club
under Prairie Center Reservation Policy 05.0, Section 05.05.06, C, 4, f and pursuant to Section
05.05.06, C, 4, f, 1. The waiver only applies to small meetings and gatherings including primarily
members, and specifically does not apply to any event where the public in general is invited to
attend or must pay admission to attend.
2. The Resolution maybe rescinded at anytime for failure to comply with the Policy or any other
reason, at the sole discretion of the City Council.
ADOPTED this 23`d day of May, 2016 by the Otsego City Council.
