BACKGROUNDIJUSTIFICATION:
Items 7.1 and 7.2 are standard annual appointments. A list of current appointments is included for your
reference.
The Albertville Otsego Joint Fire Advisory Subcommittee was approved in the 2013 Fire Protection
Agreement with Albertville. In addition to two Council members from each city, the City Administrators
and Finance Directors serve along with the Albertville Fire Chief. The Agreement outlines the duties of
the Subcommittee as follows: "...for the purpose of reviewing ongoing fire service under this
Agreement, the proposed fire budget, to address issues arising from the Agreement, to review the
operating and capital budgets, and to plan for future joint fire and emergency response services. The
Subcommittee shall meet as often as is necessary, but shall meet at least two (2) times per year." Once
Council members from each city are appointed, a meeting time and schedule will be determined.
