BACKGROU NDJJ USTI FICATION:
Boondox Bar and Grille is proposing to have an outdoor music event in the patio area of the property on
29 June 2016 from 6:OOPM to 12:30PM. Outdoor music events at Boondox are limited to only one
special event each calendar year by Section 7-5-3.B of the City Code due to the proximity of adjacent
residential uses. Details regarding the event are attached for reference and indicate the stage would be
along the east wall of the secondary building facing east, which will help minimize noise directed
towards residential neighborhoods. Boondox is proposing to have private staff provide security for the
event, which they did for the two similar events in prior years and there were no issues. Written
documentation from Christ Church and the AmVet property owners regarding use of these sites for
additional parking must be provided prior to the event. Boondox will be required to obtain a mailing list
of properties within 350 feet of the subject site and provide notice of the event not less than five days
prior to the event in accordance with Section 7-5-5.0 of the City Code.

C. We will have 2 portable Biffs. The event will take place within our property limits and within
our chain fenced area.
D. We will have security (bouncers) at the front entrance and the back, as well as outside by the
band area.

the church / vet parking will be adequate.

SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT
APPLICANT: Boondox Bar and Grille
APPLICATION: Request for approval of special event permit for Boondox to have outdoor music on
29 June 2016 from 6:OOPM to 12:30AM.
CITY COUNCIL MEETING: 13 June 2016
FINDINGS: Based upon review of the application and evidence received, the City Council of the
City of Otsego now makes the following findings of fact:
A. Requests for special event permits are subject to the provisions of Chapter 7, Section 5 of
the City Code.
B. The event application submitted by Boondox Bar and Grille is incorporated herein.
C. The Request for Council Action prepared by the City Planner, The Planning Company LLC,
is incorporated herein.
DECISION: Based on the foregoing information and applicable ordinances, the application is
hereby APPROVED subject to the following conditions:
The live outdoor music shall be allowed only on 29 June 2016 from 6:OOPM to 12:30AM.
2. Any modifications to the submitted site plan for activities on and off site shall be subject to
review and approval of City staff.
3. On -sale liquor shall comply with Chapter 7, Section 3 of the City Code and any violations
thereof shall be enforced subject to Section 7-3-11 of the City Code.
4. The applicant shall provide a mailing list obtained from the Wright County Auditors Office of
all properties within three hundred (350) feet of the subject site and provide for mailing of
notice of the special event in accordance with the City Code.
5. The applicant shall provide documentation from the property owners of 15670 90th Street and
15489 90th Street allowing off-street parking upon these premises for the event.
6. All event signs shall comply with Section 37 of the Zoning Ordinance including issuance of a
sign permit.
