SUBJECT: Wright County Area Transit (WCAT) Joint Powers Agreement
At the May 23, 2016, EDA meeting, the EDA discussed public transportation and the possibility
of joining WCAT. The information, including ride and financial data, received from WCAT and
Trailblazer Transit was provided to the EDA, and following discussion, the EDA agreed to
continue exploring the possibility of joining WCAT. The EDA further agreed that the remainder
of the discussion and decision making regarding public transit belonged under the City Council's
authority; thus, the EDA recommended that the City Council take over this matter.
At the special City Council meeting on June 27, WCAT Board Chair Jack Russek, Delano City
Council Member, and Phil Kern, Delano City Administrator will provide additional information
and answer the Council's questions. No additional information is available for distribution prior
to the upcoming meeting. If you need another copy of the previously distributed information,
