Recommend calling a meeting for a Wastewater System Master Plan (Plan) open house on September
13, 2016.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
A tentative date has been selected for the open house public meeting to gather input and provide
information on the recently approved Wastewater System Master Plan. The Plan will be far enough
along to have substance that is meaningful to the Council and public in mid -September and will be at a
point when public input will be valuable.
Following his presentation at a previous Council meeting, Scott Schaefer, AE2s, asked residents in
attendance what nights worked best for them. Based on their preferences and Mr. Schaefer's schedule,
Tuesday, September 13 is the preferred date. Unfortunately, both the HPC and Public Safety
Commission meet that evening, which will overlap the Wastewater System Master Plan meeting for the
Council liaisons to those Commissions.
The preliminary schedule is to start the open house at 6:00 with time for residents to visit with the
Council, staff, and engineers before a 6:30 presentation by the engineer. An additional question and
answer session would follow the presentation. Those in attendance would be asked for their input so
that resident suggestions can be incorporated and concerns addressed to the greatest extent possible in
the Plan. Those unable to attend could submit written comments prior to the meeting.
