RE: Lefebvre Creek Greenway
Background:
Parks and Recreation Commissioners visited the Lefebvre Creek Greenway site during a
parks system tour in May of this year. During the tour, staff pointed out the connection
that the park will have to the rest of the trial system, connecting with the trail off of
75th street and potential future park land to the east.
Development within Boulder Creek has reached the point to where planning and the
construction of the park can begin. Currently, the developer of Boulder Creek has
submitted a color rendition of potentially what the park will look like and a more
updated plan of some potential features to include in the park. Some of the features
that Staff recommended to include in the updated plan are; a playground, irrigation,
picnic tables, benches, and trash receptacles.
The Parks and Recreation Commission may want to look at some of the unique features
of this park and include amenities that would highlight those features. Staff have
included zip line feature for the Commission to review along with a proposed
playground. The other amenities such as the benches and picnic tables are
specifications used in the other parks throughout the City.
Requested Action:
Staff is requesting that the Parks and Recreation Commission review the material
included in this memo and provide a recommendation to staff on which features they
would like to see in the park.
