RESOLUTION ADOPTING
PART 2- WELLHEAD PROTECTION PLAN
WHEREAS, pursuant to a resolution of the council adopted October 20, 2003,
the City has begun the development of The City of Otsego Wellhead Protection
Program under the direction of the City Engineer, Hakanson Anderson Associates, Inc.,
and in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Health, Groundwater Protection
Unit. The City of Otsego Wellhead Protection Program that the City is developing is
pursuant to Minnesota Rules, Parts 4720.5100 to 4720.5590 mandating all units of local
government with well water supply systems to comply. The initial report titled
"OTSEGO, PART I, WELLHEAD PROTECTION PLAN", dated September 2004 and
authored by Gail Haglund, Hydrogeologist with the Minnesota Department of Health,
was received by the council for approval on October 11, 2004;
AND WHEREAS, the final report titled "OTSEGO, PART 2, WELLHEAD
PROTECTION PLAN", dated April 2006 and authored by William L. Morris, Jr. , Otsego
Wellhead Protection Manager, Hakanson Anderson Associates, Inc., was received by
the council for approval on May 8, 2006;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
Otsego MINNESOTA:
The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized to accept the "OTSEGO, PART 2,
WELLHEAD PROTECTION PLAN" as the official plan of the City of Otsego.
And, it is further resolved, the Wellhead Protection Manager, Hakanson Anderson
Associates, Inc., is authorized to submit PART 2 of the OTSEGO WELLHEAD
PROTECTION PLAN to the Minnesota Department of Health, Groundwater Protection
Unit for approval.

Motion carried.
