Call to Order.
Chair Angie Dehn called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call: Chair Angie Dehn; Commissioners: Jim Breitbach, Corey Tanner, Doug
Cassady, Angela Hilde and Derrick Stark. Absent: Commissioner Cara Husak
City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp and City Council Member Doug Schroeder.
Staff: Ross Demant, Parks and Recreation Director and Connie Schwecke, Recreation
Administrative Assistant.
1. Open Forum.
2. Consider Agenda Approval.
Commissioner Breitbach motioned to approve the agenda. Seconded by
Commissioner Tanner. All in favor. Motion carried.
3. Consider Meeting Minutes.
3.1 July 19, 2016 Regular Meeting Minutes.
Commissioner Doug Cassady added to Roll Call. Commissioner Stark
motioned to approve the amended minutes. Seconded by Chair Dehn.
All in favor. Motion carried.
4. Unfinished Business.
5. New Business.
5.1 Review Concept Design Plan for Norin Landing.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant presented staff report.
After discussion, the commissioners agreed to update the following amenities for the
concept plan:
Improvement to the storm water pond area.
Add green lighting.
Design a natural trail with less vegetation and benches along river.
Install a fishing pier/boat dock.
Parking lot upgrade further south of the concept plan.
Shelter, picnic tables, drinking fountain and grills.
Park and Recreation Director Demant will bring an updated concept plan for next
commission meeting with amenities.
5.2 Review Concept Plan for Lefebrve Creek Greenway.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant presented staff report.
ITEM 3.1
After discussion, the commissioners agreed to update the following amenities for the
concept plan:
Park would have natural amenities.
Trail would follow creek.
Split rail fence along creek.
Natural composite features designed for all ages.
Green space.
6. Parks and Recreation Director Update.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant presented and reviewed the upcoming new
attractions at the Prairie Festival and the building progress of Northwood Park.
7. City Council Reports.
City Council member Doug Schroeder gave an update to the commissioners.
8. Adjourn.
Commissioner Cassady motioned to adjourn. Seconded by
Commissioner Hilde. All in favor. Motion carried. Adjourned at 8:32
