BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
In January of 2016, staff replaced the lights in the fab bay and the mechanics bay area with 22 LED lights.
Staff requested funding in the 2017 Streets Department General Fund for the replacement of the
remaining 47 lights in the cold storage portion of the public works facility that are failing.
Staff requested quotes from Voss Lighting and Atlanta Light Bulbs for the purchase and received quotes
of $11,738.25 and $11,750 respectively. We purchased the bulbs from Voss Lighting last year and they
were very good to work with and can have the lights to us within a couple days of approval. Staff
recommends purchase of the 47 LED lights from Voss Lighting for $11,738.25. The Public Works
Subcommittee was presented with this information at its December 20, 2016 meeting and
recommended that this item be placed on Consent Agenda.
