Call to Order.
Chair Angie Dehn called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Roll Call: Chair Angie Dehn; Commissioners: Jim Breitbach, Corey Tanner, Angela Hilde,
Derrick Stark, Doug Cassady and Cara Husak.
City Council: Mayor Jessica Stockamp and City Council Members Doug Schroeder and
Vern Heidner.
Staff: Ross Demant, Parks and Recreation Director, Dan Licht, City Planner, Ron
Wagner City Engineer and Connie Schwecke, Recreation Administrative Assistant.
1. Open Forum.
2. Consider Agenda Approval.
Commissioner Breitbach motioned to approve the agenda. Seconded by
Commissioner Tanner. All in favor. Motion carried.
3. Consider Meeting Minutes.
3.1 November 15, 2016 Regular Meeting and Special Work Session Minutes.
Commissioner Stark motioned to approve both sets of minutes as
written. Seconded by Commissioner Husak. All in favor. Motion
carried.
4. Unfinished Business.
4.1 Norin Landing Concept Design Plan.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant presented the preferred Norin Park Concept
Design.
Commissioner Hilde questioned the cost of removing the large cottonwood tree. Parks
and Recreation Director Demant stated that the initial estimates for removal of such a
large tree were around $4500.
Commissioner Breitbach questioned if the parking stalls would be lined. Parks and
Recreation Director Demant said yes they would be striped.
Commissioner Husak asked if the three lights showed in the plan would stay on after
sunset. Parks and Recreation Director Demant said yes.
ITEM 3.1
Commissioner Tanner questioned if the playground would be made of natural materials.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant stated yes and showed the commissioners
natural playground examples.
Commissioner Stark motioned to recommend to the City Council
approval of the Norin Landing Preferred Concept Plan. Seconded by
Chair Dehn. All in favor. Motion carried.
5. New Business.
6. Parks and Recreation Director Update.
Parks and Recreation Director Demant reviewed and discussed Santa Day, skating rinks,
Prairie Park dog park lights and Northwood Park.
Mr. Demant thanked Commissioner Tanner and City Council member Doug Schroeder
for their service and their support to the City.
7. City Council Reports.
Mayor Stockamp gave an update to the commissioners.
8. Adjourn.
Commissioner Tanner motioned to adjourn. Seconded by Commissioner
Hilde. All in favor. Motion carried. Adjourned at 7:34 P.M.
