SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
OTSEGO PRAIRIE CENTER
April 22, 2013
Call to Order.
Mayor Jessica Stockamp called the meeting to order at 7:46 PM.
Roll Call; Mayor Jessica Stockamp; Councilmembers: Vern Heidner, Jason Warehime,
Doug Schroeder and Tom Darkenwald. Staff: Lori Johnson,, City Administrator and
Andy MacArthur, City Attorney,,
1. Administrative update on 2013 Goals and Administrative items.
City Administrator Johnson reviewed the staff report highlighting progress on the 2013
goals. Councilmember Heidner stated the Family Speech and Therapy Services building
looks nice and a huge improvement.
The Council discussed the Administrative Services Director recruitment and selection
process. The Council agreed that even though applications will now be accepted until
May 16, the current applicants will remain viably candidates and will be reviewed with
all candidate applications following the May 16 deadline. Engaging a consultant for a
pre-employment assessment was discussed. City Administrator Johnson stated she
would bring proposals back to the Council for their consideration. The Council agreed
to review applications on May 2$ and tentatively set interviews for ]ung 13.
2. Update on Peo IeService Contract.
City Administrator Johnson and Council member Heidner gave an update on
negotiations with Peop[eService. The Council agreed to advertise for employees.
Councilmember Heidner and City Administrator Johnson were given authority to
negotiate the lead operator position and put it on the May 13 consent agenda.
