RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council accept a $4,500 cash donation and $1,000 in-kind donation of
advertising from The Bank of Elk River for the exclusive partnership of the 2017 Movie Series, 2017
Splash and Play Entertainment Series, Soar Theater production, and to be a Platinum Level sponsor for
the 2017 Otsego Prairie Festival.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
It is being proposed that The Bank of Elk River and the City of Otsego enter into a partnership to assist
the City to promote health and wellness throughout the community. If approved, this will be the sixth
year in that The Bank and the City have partnered to increase recreational opportunities to Otsego
residents. If approved The Bank of Elk River will be donating a monetary amount of $4,500 and an in-
kind amount of$1,000 of advertising to the City of Otsego and in return will be the exclusive partner for
the 2017 Movie Series, the 2017 Splash and Play Entertainment Series, SOAR Theater Production and
will be a Platinum Level sponsor for the 2017 Otsego Prairie Festival.
In addition to the exclusive partnerships, The Bank of Elk River will also provide volunteers at other
special events throughout the year. The Bank and City encourage other local businesses to attend and
help promote community at these events also.
We are thankful for The Bank of Elk River's contribution to Otsego recreation programs and look forward
to an ongoing relationship with The Bank of Elk River as we expand our recreation programs and
community events.

and approve Resolution 2017-24.

RESOLUTION NO. 2017-24
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE BANK OF ELK
RIVER TO THE OTSEGO PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, The Bank of Elk River has made a cash donation of $4,500and an
in-kind donation of $1,000 of advertising to the Otsego Parks and Recreation
Department; and,
WHEREAS, the donation to the Otsego Parks and Recreation Department is for
the purpose of supporting provisions of community events in Otsego; and,
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations or
real or personal property be accepted only with adoption of a resolution of the
governing body; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego sincerely thanks The Bank of Elk River for their
generous donation and for its support of the community.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Otsego, Wright County, Minnesota that the donation by The Bank of Elk River is
hereby accepted.
ADOPTED this 27th day of March, 2017 by the Otsego City Council.
